Letters from a Young Journalist
My senior thesis project centered on how young journalists perceive the future of their profession and how they feel journalism education should change to fit their needs.
What began as an open letter to the University of Missouri School of Journalism faculty turned into a discussion on what it means to be a reporter of my generation. Amazingly the site we created exploded virally. It led to lengthy Twitter discussions between students, faculty, alumni and other journalists. Other universities requested our findings and a spot light was turned onto how one of the best journalism schools in the country is changing to keep its students at the top of their field.

The MU School of Journalism has since announced that it will be implementing many of our ideas in the fall of 2010. The news release can be found here.
I conducted many of the alumni and student interviews for the project and produced a series of student videos on why the curriculum needs to change. Two of the videos I produced for the project can be found here:
